Bjørn og Tårnet

Portrættet tager sit udgangspunkt i tilblivelsen af Bjørn Nørgaards Babeltårn – både fra atelieret ved Frederiksholm Kanal og støberiet i Pietrasanta. Værkets udvikling vil på kronologisk vis bygge filmen op og afrunde med den officielle offentliggørelse af det færdige resultat i Aarhus. Gennem den fortælling trækkes naturlige referencer til fortiden, og således tegnes der et fyldestgørende portræt af en af vor tids største danske kunstnere, som har været med til at rykke ved vores kunstopfattelse og hele vores måde at indrette samfundet på.

Filmen er nysgerrig efter at komme helt tæt på og skabe et meget intimt portræt af manden bag alle tankerne og talenterne og give seerne et indblik i, hvordan kunst kan rykke ved samfund. Hvor begynder det hele, hvordan opstår det og hvorfor udvikler det sig som det gør?

Bjørn and the Babel Tower

The portrait is centered around the creation of Bjørn Nørgaard's Babel Tower, seen from both his studio by Frederiksholm Canal and the foundry in Pietrasanta. The film will chronologically depict the development of the artwork, culminating in the official unveiling of the finished result in Aarhus. Throughout this narrative, natural references to the past are woven, providing a comprehensive portrait of one of Denmark's greatest contemporary artists.
