Amedeo is 11 years old and lives on a houseboat in Venice with his father Michael, his mom and big brother.
Michael and Amedeo have the desire to sail the long distance from Venice to Sletten at the North of Zealand in Denmark. Unfortunately, their houseboat cannot sail. In their small dinghy they sail with the ship dog Prik around the canals of Venice to find an old boat that can be prepared for the long journey. At an old shipyard they find the taxi boat Walter.
This is the starting point of a long and exciting journey. We watch closely while Walter takes us from Venice to Sanova and sails from the Genoa Bay to Monaco. From here the journey goes to Port Saint Louis and by the old rivers of Europe through France and the Netherlands. In Germany we will sail through the Kieler Canal to the Baltic and further on to Copenhagen. 52 days after our departure from Venice we are finally reaching Sletten, where Michael lived when he was a boy.
