The Silent Killer
In 57 worldwide thousands of new-borns and their mothers die of tetanus during the first week after birth. Tetanus is a very painful disease that in most cases is deadly. One of the countries where too many children die of the disease is Laos in the south-eastern Asia. UNICEF in Denmark has decided to raise money for the establishment of a vaccination system that is able to reach all children in the country - also the ones living in the mountains or far away from the cities. For one day JJ Film follows life in the village Luang Nhamta in the northern and most mountanious part of Laos. The vaccination project in Laos is part of UNICEF's actions worldwide to eradicate tetanus at births all over the world.
